Duties:
There is a wonderful opportunity to create a meaningful event in your community that celebrates those who have lived, are living, and moving past cancer. The Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life event brings neighbors, friends, and community influencers together, united by the common goal of creating a world where no Canadian fears cancer. The experience of cheering on survivors, walking the track, and joining in a range of track side activities at Relay For Life (RFL) creates an unforgettable evening! Recruitment and Retention Lead As the Recruitment and Retention Lead, you are organized, self-motivated, and have great interpersonal skills. Using your personal and professional networks, you will assist in promotion and recruitment for the Relay For Life event by collaborating with your Canadian Cancer Society staff partner and the Relay For Life Event Chair. This role involves prospecting, developing, and establishing new relationships and leads, as well as educating them about this opportunity. You will also be provided contact information for participants from the previous year's event; you will become their point of contact for engaging in 2020! The committee will meet regularly over the year, with increasing commitments as the event approaches. Each committee member will have their own portfolio but will share a passion for the mission: to provide the opportunity for those affected by cancer to come together and draw support while raising funds for critical, life-saving cancer research and programs.
