Duties: With nearly 1 in 2 Canadians expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, we need volunteers in Sault Ste Marie more than ever. April is Daffodil Month and we’re looking for volunteers to join the Canadian Cancer Society in raising awareness and funds to help change – and save – lives. It only takes a few hours of your time to make a difference! See some of the ways you can get involved: *Sign up for Daffodil Pin Sales at locations throughout Sault Ste Marie *Support our Community Fundraising Specialist as a Site Captain to ensure our volunteers are set up and established at their Daffodil Pin Sale location *Help count donations received at our office Every year, thousands of Canadians across the country volunteer for Daffodil Month. By getting involved, you’re showing those who’ve been affected by cancer that they’re not alone. Each minute you spend out in your community is an important and meaningful action that helps us move towards a future where fewer of our family members, friends and loved ones have to face this disease. We hope that you’ll be one of the many incredible people that we can count on. April is fast approaching, so sign up online at www.myCCSschedule.ca

Skills Expected: Friendly, outgoing, personable, comfortable speaking to people in public, punctual, reliable.

Orientation: Canadian Cancer Society staff will support our volunteers with all the information necessary to be successful during their shift.

Training: Canadian Cancer Society staff will support our volunteers with all the information necessary to be successful during their shift.

Benefits: When the ones you love are diagnosed with cancer, friends and family often want to do something to help or honour them. Volunteering enables change. At the Canadian Cancer Society, we want you to know that our Daffodil Campaign is a special opportunity to make a difference. At the Canadian Cancer Society, we know that cancer changes people. But we believe that a cancer diagnosis doesn’t have to define who they are. We are committed to helping people live longer and enhancing the quality of life for all of those affected by cancer.
