Duties: Big Brothers Big Sisters Sault Ste. Marie is a not-for-profit, charitable organization, governed by a volunteer Board. The Board supports staff in delivering programs that fulfill the mission and vision of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada.

Skills Expected: Marketing & Communication IT - Web design, data collection Business & Entrepreneurship Child Development Social Services Event planning, project management, Fundraising Law - Non-profit sector

Orientation: Orientation is provided for all new board members, including overview of strategic plan, policies, procedures, finances etc. New board members are provided with an Orientation binder for future reference, as well as past minutes and reports.

Training: Board members participate in on-going training, throughout the term. Topics can include, Governance, DEI, Fundraising 101, etc.

Benefits: Board members have the opportunity to play an important role in assisting children and youth in Sault Ste. Marie, improving their lives and igniting their power and potential through the programs and services offered by Big Brothers Big Sisters Sault Ste. Marie.
