Program: 2019 Winter Games

Duties: The basic volunteer responsibilities and roles include: • Assisting in setup of equipment for events and ceremonies • Distribution of medals and presentation pillows to sport venues • Monitoring medal counts • Marshaling of athletes • Assisting with duties throughout the event for food services (buffet dinner, breakfast, lunch, and ) • Registration and providing information to family and spectators at the venues • Accreditation assistance at each hotel • Assisting in all sport competitions

Skills Expected: Communication skills

Orientation: • Must complete a Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) which is provided free of charge to all residents of Sault Ste. Marie volunteering for games • Must complete an online orientation • Must attend one in-person volunteer orientation session in January

Training: Online orientation will be available 1-on-1 session on January 5th, 7th, and 19th

Benefits: • Games are coming into town after 18 years and it is a good opportunity to give something back to your community • A T-Shirt will be provided to each volunteer • A Volunteer lunch will be at the Legion Hall on February 3rd, 2019 • For the students who need volunteers/community hours, a letterhead can be provided stating the hours/duties completed
