Duties:
|
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment, training, placement of volunteers within the chapter in support of its current and/or future fundraising projects. This individual is also responsible for ensuring that volunteers are appropriately stewarded and recognized. The Coordinator sits on the chapter Board.
Reports to chapter board; works directly with the Chapter President and Chapter Development Coordinator and regional and national staff.

Skills Expected:
|
Possess of basic understanding of what cystic fibrosis is and the mission of the organization;
Knowledge of Cystic Fibrosis Canada policies and materials regarding volunteer management including Code of Conduct and Privacy Guidelines;
Knowledge of current trends, resources and information related to volunteerism
Database management - knowledge of Excel and Word;
Behave ethically: Understand ethical behavior and business practices and ensure that own behavior and the behavior of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organization;
build relationship: Establish and maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the organization;
communicate effectively: Speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques;
Creativity/innovation: Develop new and unique ways to improve operations of the organization and to create new opportunities;
Organize: Set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information and activities.
Solve Problems: Assists problem situation to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem. Motivated and enthusiastic;
Management experience (human resources background) is an asset.

Training:

With the support and guidance of the Regional Executive Director, identify appropriate Volunteer Resources and tools to train and strengthen the skill sets required for t his volunteer position.
