Duties: Board of Directors role can be broken into 2 categories: Governance and Management. Governance is the development of policies by the board that give overall direction to the agency. Management is the actions and decisions that the board take to ensure there are sufficient and appropriate human and financial resources for the organization to accomplish its work.

Skills Expected: informed about organizations mandate, service policies and programs; be prepared for meetings by reviewing agenda an supportive material; help board carry out it's fiduciary responsibilities Criminal Reference check is completed

Orientation: Policy and Procedural manual is given to each board member. Copies of previous minutes, financial reports, etc. are given.

Training: Ongoing training is provided.
