As our Lead UI/UX Designer, you’ll be responsible for defining and delivering the digital experience for Right to Live Canada—one of the country’s most promising new nonprofits dedicated to defending the dignity and survival of Canadians with disabilities. You will create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using Figma, while working closely with a small team of developers and content leads to translate vision into powerful public-facing pages. You’ll establish and evolve our brand design system, optimize user flows for donations and memberships, and help shape the emotional resonance of our mission through clean, accessible, and engaging design. You’ll also mentor any junior designers who join the team, helping ensure visual and functional consistency across our platform.

Skills Expected:
- Professional experience in UI/UX design for web or mobile, with a portfolio demonstrating high-impact, high-conversion design
- Fluency in Figma, including wireframes, interactive prototypes, and shared component libraries
- Strong command of user-centered design principles, responsive layout techniques, and accessibility standards (WCAG)
- Ability to work self-directed, organize design pipelines, and communicate effectively in a remote environment
- Prior experience leading or mentoring designers is preferred
Bonus: familiarity with Wix Studio, and experience designing donation or campaign flows for nonprofits or mission-driven orgs
Orientation:

Volunteers will receive an onboarding orientation that includes:
- A guided walkthrough of Right to Live Canada’s mission, tone, and design goals
- Access to our existing brand assets, current draft wireframes, and platform strategy
- A meet-and-greet call with the core team and other key collaborators (content lead, devs, project coordinator)
Training:
While this is a senior-level volunteer opportunity with prior experience expected, we will provide support in the form of:
- Strategic feedback on early design drafts to ensure alignment with our advocacy goals
- Ongoing support from the founder and core team to unblock or clarify key decisions
- A one-on-one video onboarding session to walk you through Right to Live Canada’s mission, origin story, strategic focus, and core messaging—ensuring you have full context to design with meaning and alignment
