Duties:
|
As a volunteer in this role, you will :
- Provide regular visits to assigned older adult clients, offering companionship, conversation & engagement in meaningful activities.
- Perform regular outbound phone calls to assigned older adult clients.
- Provide client centered support including referrals to other services.
- Maintain timely and accurate records.
- Report any health or safety concerns to the Supervisor.
- Provide monthly activity reports to Supervisor.

- Ability to listen and empathize with clients concerning personal and/or health-related issues.
- A general knowledge of local community resources and events.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, attuned to supporting with active listening and the ability to explain and confirm understanding, express empathy.
- Customer Service Skills dedicated to supporting those affected by loneliness and/or isolation, remain focused and respond decisively.
- A clear understanding of privacy and confidentiality.
- The ability to work as a team, sharing information, helping team members, respectful of diversity, approachable, building relationships.
Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision.
- The ability to deliver services in English, with French or another second language being an asset.

- In person review of the Friendly Visiting manual
