Duties:
|
We are currently looking for volunteers to assist Recreation staff implement various programs to our residents. Activities may include crafts, outings, BINGO, board/card games, baking, walks, one to one visits and assisting with portering residents to and from activities.
|
|
Skills Expected:
|
Some experience working with elderly or individuals with disabilities is an asset. Patience, compassion, and sociability are required. May be some physical abilities required in order to push wheelchairs for both short and long distances.
|
|
Orientation:
|
Full orientation provided to interested volunteers.
|
|
Training:
|
Full training and orientation provided to qualified volunteers which includes overview of policies and procedures, tour of the facility, and direct training from Programs Manager and Recreation Aides.
|
|

Students needing community volunteer hours are welcome.
A police record check including Vulnerable Sector Section for Volunteers 18 and older, and a 2 Step TB test is required before assignment.
